Why doesn't my shop show up on Naver?
Naver doesn't find websites on its own. Checking three things (Naver Search Advisor registration, Naver Place registration, and the text on your website) solves most cases.
When a shop doesn't show up on Naver, it is usually for one of three reasons: you haven't told Naver about your website, your shop isn't on Naver Place (the map), or the words customers search for aren't written on your website. Check them in order.
1. Have you registered with Naver Search Advisor?
Naver finds new websites more slowly than Google. Once you register your site in Naver Search Advisor (searchadvisor.naver.com), verify ownership and submit a sitemap, Naver starts collecting it. ISSYMO does this registration for you at launch. Even after registering, it can take from a few days to a few weeks.
2. Is your shop on Naver Place?
When people search "neighborhood + type of business", Naver shows Place (the map) before websites. If your shop isn't on Place, it can't appear there no matter how good your website is. Register your shop on Naver Smart Place and add your website address. The more you fill in opening hours, photos and reviews, the higher you rise.
3. Does your website use the words customers search for?
Search engines read the text on your website. If the first screen is only photos and "Welcome", Naver has no idea what the shop does. Your shop name, neighborhood, what you do, and the names of your main menu items or treatments need to be written as text in page titles and body copy. Text inside photos can't be read.
If it still doesn't show up
- Type site:yourdomain.com into the search box. If nothing comes up, it hasn't been collected yet.
- If your website breaks on a phone or is very slow, collection can be delayed.
- If there are many other shops with the same name, add your neighborhood. "Sinnonhyeon ○○ Dermatology" shows up faster than "○○ Dermatology".
Naver only knows if you tell it. Registration, Place, and text. Once these three are in place, time takes care of the rest.
