How to write so your shop shows up in AI answers
Which sentences ChatGPT and Gemini pick to quote, and how to rewrite the introduction on your website.
When you ask AI "Is there a craft studio nearby that's open on weekends?", it reads many websites and builds its answer from the sentences that answer the question most directly. So to appear in AI answers, your website needs sentences that answer questions, written as text. It is a writing problem, not a design problem.
Why do facts get quoted more than adjectives?
AI cannot quote "made with the finest quality and care", because it is an opinion. Write with numbers and facts instead, like "Classes Sat and Sun at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Bookings for 2 or more.", and it becomes easy to quote. Delete the adjectives in your introduction and put numbers in their place.
What should go in the first paragraph?
AI and search engines often work out what a page is about from its first paragraph. If the first paragraph has your shop name, location (station or neighborhood), what you do and who your main customers are all together, they know right away what the page is about. Example: "Heukgwason Studio is a pottery studio 5 minutes' walk from Exit 3 of Seongsu Station. We run weekend one-day classes for first-time adults in groups of 2–4."
Why should subheadings use your customers' exact questions?
Write FAQ headings exactly the way customers really ask. "Can I come alone if it's my first time?" instead of "Guide", "Is there parking?" instead of "Parking information". When questions and answers come in pairs, AI can easily pick them up. Add FAQ structured data and search engines read the questions and answers accurately too.
What happens if your information differs between channels?
If your website says "until 8 p.m." and Naver Place says "until 9 p.m.", AI either trusts one of them or avoids mentioning you at all. Make your name, address, phone number and opening hours match down to the last letter on your website, maps and social media.
- Delete adjectives, add numbers
- First paragraph: who, where, what, and for whom
- FAQ headings in your customers' own words
- Prices, hours and location as text, not images
- The same business details on every channel
AI picks up facts more readily than decoration. Write the way you would explain things to a customer on the phone. That is the best GEO writing.
