Kakao Map listing

A Kakao Map listing means registering and correcting your business's place information so it shows accurately on Kakao Map and in Daum search.

It's putting your shop's name on one more big signpost besides Naver Map.

A little more detail

Plenty of customers mainly use Kakao Map. They check directions, phone number and opening hours there and come straight over.

You can request a new place listing or an information correction in Kakao Map. There's also a way to manage the information yourself after business verification, so check Kakao Map's guide.

Just like with Naver and Google, your name, address and phone number must match what's listed elsewhere.

How do I list my business on Kakao Map?

To manage it yourself, register and verify your location in the Kakao Business Partner Center. In December 2025, Kakao merged its Kakao Business Admin Center, KakaoTalk Channel Admin Center and Kakao Map store management into one "Kakao Business Partner Center."

Before you start, gather your business registration certificate, a Kakao account for your business, the name, address and phone matched exactly to your other maps, and exterior, interior and signature menu photos, and you can finish registration in one go. Using the same photos and menu you posted on Naver and Google keeps the info in all three places naturally in sync.

Once verified, you get the right to edit your info along with the responsibility to manage it. Make a habit of updating the Partner Center right away when your hours or days off change, and customers will rarely see old info.

Below is the overall flow. Menu names and required documents can change, so check the Partner Center screens and Kakao Help Center as you go.

  1. 01Search your business name and address on Kakao Map to see if a listing already exists.
  2. 02Log in to Kakao Business with your business's Kakao account and go to the Partner Center.
  3. 03In the store management menu, find the existing listing and claim it as your store, or register a new store if there isn't one.
  4. 04Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your business info and complete verification.
  5. 05Fill in hours, phone, menu, photos and website address to match your other maps.
  6. 06Review can take time before changes appear, so search Kakao Map again a few days later to confirm the updates.

How do I use Kakao Map together with a KakaoTalk Channel?

Now that Kakao Map store management and KakaoTalk Channel management live in the same Partner Center, you can manage your store info and channel in one place. When customers who saw your business on the map add your channel, they can get your news on KakaoTalk from then on.

Channels are strong at keeping regulars; map listings are strong at helping new customers find you. So rather than treating them separately, think of them as one flow: "found on the map → added the channel → came back."

When you send promotional messages through your channel, you must follow Kakao's message policy and opt-in rules. If you send too often, more customers will block your channel.

Channel messages work when they're something customers want to receive. Focus on info that's useful to the reader, like next month's class openings for a craft studio, or open weekday booking slots for a hair salon.

Which of the three maps should I focus on first?

The order depends on how your customers find you. Just asking customers "How did you hear about us?" for a few weeks will give you a good sense.

Either way, make sure none of the three has wrong info. Customers use different maps, so one map you don't manage can send people on a wasted trip.

Trying to perfect all three from the start is exhausting. It's enough to fill in the most important one thoroughly, including photos and menu, and start the other two by just getting the name, address, phone and hours exactly right.

If it's hard to ask customers directly, you can compare the view counts in each map's owner dashboard. Watching the numbers for a month or two gives you a rough idea of which map your customers use more.

How do I fix wrong info on Kakao Map?

If your store is verified in the Partner Center, fixing it yourself is fastest. If it isn't verified yet, start store verification first, and if it's urgent, also use Kakao Map's edit request or contact the help center.

If you moved, update to the new address and also check that the listing at your old address has been cleaned up. If the same business shows up in two places, customers can't tell which one is right.

Edit requests go through review, so changes may not appear right away. Note the date you made the fix and search again about a week later so nothing slips through.

Some info is hard to fix yourself. In that case, use the Kakao Map inquiry channel in the Kakao Help Center, and have documents ready that show it's your business, like your business registration certificate.

What are common mistakes in managing Kakao Map?

It's common to manage only Naver and leave Kakao Map exactly as it was when the listing was first added automatically. Then customers see an old phone number or empty hours.

Kakao Map places are also often shared on KakaoTalk, so wrong info can spread to many people at once through group chats.

Be careful when you rename your business, too. If your sign shows the new name but the map still has the old one, customers can walk right past you even after following the map.

Uploading photos once and leaving them for years is another common mistake. If your menu or interior has changed, change the photos too, so what customers expect matches the real place.

  • Not listing the floor and entrance for a business inside a building, so customers wander in front of it
  • Not checking that the map pin is behind the building or on the building next door
  • Different hours on your KakaoTalk Channel and your store info
  • Verifying with a personal account instead of a business account, so management breaks off when staff change

What should I focus on first on Kakao Map for my type of business?

Pilates and yoga studios are often on upper floors of commercial buildings, so list the floor, elevator and parking info first. Academies should put shuttle service and consultation hours up front, and cafes should lead with parking and seating photos.

Businesses that run by appointment, like craft studios, should clearly write "Booking required before visiting" next to their hours. It cuts down on customers who drop by after seeing the map and get turned away at the door.

Whatever your business, the first main photo is what customers use to choose. If that first photo doesn't make it clear what you sell, consider replacing it with one that clearly shows your signature menu item or work.

Businesses with different weekday and weekend hours, like cafes, should list hours by day of the week. If you lump them into one line like "Daily 10:00–22:00," customers who come on a day you close early make a wasted trip.

For example

  • A Pilates studio moved, but its old address stayed on Kakao Map, and customers ended up going to the old location.

Just check these

  • You searched your business name on Kakao Map and the information is correct
  • No outdated info from a move or closure is still showing
  • Your website address is included

Does my business need it?

If customers come to your shop in person, check it.
